Euro Fever

On a beautiful spring evening, searching for a little place to witness the tussle does not state that I have caught the ongoing fever. Weather report says Deutschland will pour this week. Although it’s not pouring but weather is extremely fluctuating. In the morning thermometer indicates 22 degrees and cool winds from Alps may freeze you outside of your room. In the day time thermometer doesn’t indicate more than 25 degrees but weather is beautifully sunny hot and you can opt for sunbathe.

Yesterday evening Deutschland was playing Croatia and it was an opportunity for me to figure out the actual Euro-fever in Europe. I had to meet a German guy who had been to my home country for sometime and we had planned to watch the fever together. I didn’t know how fascinating he could be, about India or about Germany or specifically about the match; afraid of boredom I dragged some of my friends with me too. There was a big screen displaying the live match at our meeting spot and even one and a half hour before starting of the game freaks were present to reserve their seat. He took us to a biergarten so that we can find some places to sit there and enjoy the match. But, it was not in favor of Deutschland’s fortune that we could find a place actually. Then we decided to shift to the cultural center and this was the place where I could very well figure out the so called EuroFever. You can’t listen to the person standing beside you because of the synchronized noise level in support of Deutschland. Each and every freak was dressed in their tricolor flag or in the white team dress, sipping beer cans and shouting and shouting. If the Spartan plot of movie 300 had to be remade on this plot, the dialogue could certainly be “This is total madness” and in reply the deliverer could have been hit hard by the adidas’ soccer ball saying “This is Euro Fever and Deutschland is playing.” Or, might be his head could have been blown by the stroke of a beer bottle. In the awful combination of the madness and boredom of the German companion we decided to find our folks and we left that place saying “chuss” to Mr. German. As soon as we met our folks, Croatia did that. The first goal against Germany and I could see some faces leaning down in regret. May be they would be accusing Lehman as he was also considered to be the problem in the team. I’m not saying this on my own; actually I heard some of them to utter this. After the end of first half, I prayed for Croatia to continue and beat Germany so that I can observe another side of this fever, the agony. Truly as an observer, not at all malevolently I wished the same. And, Croatia did it again, but unfortunately I was no longer present to witness that. May Deutschland win against Austria! So that I can have further chances to complete my observation, and at least enthusiasm of these people does not die so early.

India Days

Reading a poster titled India-Days, anyone living outside this largest democracy on Earth, would fall into memories of his/her days spent in India, with its diversified culture and beautiful cosmos for living. Anyone who is eager to know India would be excited to attend it. When you invite a mix of people, some who belongs to India, some who has spent some moment in India and some who is eager to know about India, for such an event, just think of the beautiful intercultural experience being built for everyone. This is what exactly happened at Rupart Karlos University at Heidelberg, Germany.

On a fine morning, Deutsher Akademischer Austausch Dienst sent me an invitation to India-Days at Heidelberg. Reading the title excited me, and probably all other invited fellows, to enjoy a get together of many homely folks at home far-far away from home. The last weekend it held. Use wiki to know about Heidelberg, it would tell you about the most famous tourist spot there. It’s nothing but the Castle. So it was my first visiting spot too. At 1600 hrs we were received at the youth hostel and then we left for the Univ. for the formal inaugural of India-Days. Had a beautiful dinner at the Inaugural Night. The motto of this event was to impress Germans and Indians to enjoy the intercultural and educational experiences interchangeably. In other words, German agency was trying to impress Germans about India and to excite them to go to India. But, one thing for sure, in this event I realized the greatness of my country and how it is influencing the people far away. I am proud to be an Indian and every Indian must be. With EuroCup fever in whole of the Europe, it was a brilliant moment to enjoy our Desi disc that night. It was really good to see Germans, trying their hand on Bhangra with us and even singing our bollywood songs. This moment gave us another opportunity to see the fireworks at the Castle in the memories of burning of the castle by striking of a lightning. After another formal end to the event we diverted according to our previous plans to the cities of our interest and landed at Frankfurt, a commercial hub of Deutschland. Finally back to week life at work.

Cia later.

Ten unhappening days :(

Today is the day number eleven at a world which seemed completely unknown from a land few thousand miles farther. When you have not reached such place, you sometimes dream about the new experiences of life. New people, new climate, new living style and even the language. Smart enough people do adjust each and every unprecedented circumstance. Being an IITian (considered the hub of smart people), I was proud enough to be able to tackle the new environment. But, somewhere it let me down. Hunh! Not knowing their language has become an attacking tool for them. When I joined the institute as Guest Scientist, I got a login account here. Smart folks around me adored me, but they are unaware of the attacking tool that account is being used as. Each and every day, I am being forced to use Google’s language tool at least 5 times and for that matter many thanks to Google, Freetranslation and Leo. Even before going to the market, I need the help of these tools, to identify exactly what I need. But, after all I belong to the Great Indian Hub of Smart People, so I’m smartly surviving here. (Nice nomenclature after all ;) ).

Ten days have past and I’ve a fairly good idea of the city. So, let me take you to the tour of the city I’m residing in. Hitler and his followers made the city Nuremberg famous as they were trialed here after World War II. Nuremberg is also famous for some ancient civilization in Europe, which I have not yet bothered to find about. However I’m in possession of city map, provided by the person-in-charge of strategic planning of my institute, which coveys enough detail about the visiting places of the city. My city is around 12 kilometers away from Nuremberg airport and is known as Erlangen. As I’ve already mentioned its blossoming spring here, so city looks quite green. Summer is arriving and its initial phase is really intolerable. You always feel to be beneath cold shower. This city has almost a hundred thousand people living in. Twenty five thousand works here for Siemens and twenty five thousand studies here in the university. So removing these two will resize the city into half. Found many Indians here, mostly working for Siemens only. And, none the less a sardaarji too. Meeting sardaarji was quite eventful. I was going to the residence of other smart folks. Two of them were with me too. We came out of the supermarket with large baggages of eatables and caught the wrong bus, which left us at a place atleast five kilometers away from our destination. And next bus at that stop was one and a half hour later. So we had no option else to walk. After thirty minutes of exhaustive walking we reached a stop where next bus was half an hour later and there was not enough courage to walk further. It was like a picnic spot for us, opening our food packets we were enjoying the brunch hour. Suddenly one of us saw the most privileged sardaarji taking out his car and he just zoomed towards him. A sympathetic feeling for his countrymen led us find a place into the car and he dropped us to the right spot. He also promised us to invite on the opening of his Indian eatery in the early June. Hope we could find a place to eat like home. This weekend we folks are off for the Erlangen Beach Party. Wanna come along, then join us ASAP else wait for this page to be updated.

First impression as a Foreign National

Here it goes!

I’m finally landed at the land of Nazi’s. Country looked beautiful and green at first glance. The very first day, got the impression proved that Deutschland is the country which live by rules. Went through all formal proceedings to be a legitimate inhabitant of the city. Another important thing was the impression I received from the institution I would be working, it is maintained under extreme securities. Had to sign non disclosure agreement too, so I’m bound not to disclose what I have seen here. I’m provided with a nice apartment in the institute building only. The city I’m residing in is a village by the standards of Germany, but comprise of many big supermarkets and a mall which is surely more than double in size of Pacific in Ghaziabad. Its spring time here, so all around city is blossoming with greenery. Temperature always lies between 20-23 degrees. Sometimes it drizzles here too (perfect time to date someone ;) ).

The most problematic part of my stay, that people rarely speaks English here. So, I have become more of a dumb as I have to convey my messages through hand-gestures. Hope during my stay I would be able to learn a bit of their language. Rest, in the next update. This weekend I’m planning a nice city trip, so may be there would be more for you in the next.

I'm back!

Ah! I’m back.
It’s been long writing something, so it’s just something I’m penning down here (rather typing). Many more things happened during this long break. Many more times I thought of updating those here, but all those many more times I could just think. Result is before you. If you like to know in brief then follow else press Alt+f4 and wait for next update as that may bring you something readable.
Well, to start with, I would like to express something about my first ever engineering experience. I led the smart folks to an industrial trip in an industry situated in the state of erstwhile Rajputana. My first ever experience of a tour with whole lot of smart folks (along with a Geek!!). For those six days, it felt that could we have the power to stop the time to run! Days exhausted in industry and at night we all explored the city of lakes. Going to industry places was something which we never wanted during the tour but it allowed us to have an adventurous and beautiful experience of walking 1000 ft down the level on which humanity resides on the planet. Yes! It’s a mine. Listening about a mine first imagination in anyone’s mind comes of a coal mine, black everywhere and very dirty and muddy even. But it wasn’t a coal mine. Brilliant engineering masterpiece, as it is brilliantly air cooled. Rest about the city, where you can find many more places of historic importance, especially forts, palaces and lakes. The thing which I loved the most about that place was food. Always went for typical rajasthani food. Searched for best restaurants and I would suggest if you ever happen to visit that place do search for “Aapni Dhaani” and enjoy a brilliant combination of delicious food and excellent service. I would love to be there again and again.
It’s only in brief. If you wish to listen to the story in full detail then come to me sometime. Well, I have successfully completed my junior year. Before being promoted to senior year and the last memorable year of my undergraduates, I’m off to Deutschland for 10 weeks. I will try to keep this page updated from there. Watch out!

First anniversary of a Legitimate bachelor

It wasn’t a glooming darkness. Neither was sun being extravagant at the rise nor was the spring loosing its charm. But, certainly all those were being so picturesque that a rhetoric soul would definitely start penning down the cosmos being built; certainly it was bringing, for him, a reason to smile. It was the day, on which Chocolaty passes a complete year post legitimacy of bachelorhood. For the first time, he was celebrating his birthday among friends this way. Lords have grown up from R culture of beating-one-hard. So quite lucky he was, No Bumps! It was quarter to 0000 and lords started in its style. Noodles and lays made the tongue feel tasty-salty while refreshing Double-Sundae and heavenly Black Forest made everyone delighted. Just one to go and My-can started being shaken and at 0000 its seal broke and filled the cosmos with carbonaceous liquid. Having sipped those cans focus was brought to the pineapple cake and the party went on. Creative 2.1 was sufficient enough to let the wise people living in apartments beside lords’ dynasty know what is going on, and eventually they could not restrain themselves to point it out! His beloved Nokia 6610 started functioning; probably airtel was also supporting others to express them to Chocolaty.

Waking up with rising sun and a charming smile to follow daily routine was not surprising for him. The real surprise came a while later, like pooh was wishing birthday to piglet. A beautiful cartoon evolved in the black background to wish his birthday with utterly-butterly and delicious style. But fortunately (I would say it fortunately!) it was so happy to enjoy the chocolaty birthday, it forgot to disappear before the wise man could figure it out. And, here only he revealed that he actually noticed banging creative 2.1. Whole forest started singing the birthday song, reminding chocolaty of his schooldays. Thanks to you all.

When winter became panic

Its the start of 2k8 and winter season is at its extreme. As R is famous for uneven mood of weather, so anyone can guess its mood this time. January, started with little windy and chilling mood and probably would end up unchanged. People have even reported to find ice bricks lying on the lawns. If you go to buy a chocolate, and get a stone hard frozen one, then it should not be any surprise. All you have to do is to use hammering tools, readily available with meta and mech people, to savor it. If chocolate could freeze, then its obvious if chocolaty is shivering too much. Seems chocolaty has surpassed his and directly entered into geezerhood. Another hitherto being the suffering from abdominal pain. Now it has advanced to the extreme. Reason being, great hospitality available in R. First checkup, and sophisticated person just tries to guess something and ipso facto use you as his experimental physical model, ignoring the real that you are the prototype. You may have to skip your meals, as quantities of experimental parameters would be sufficient enough to feed the live machine. Later comes the diagnosis part. A 4x3 sq inch booklet contains all your history of using hospitality of R. And in some cases, you may be referred out for some proceedings. Today, chocolaty was seen to use outside hospitality, for inner diagnosis using radiography. It was 4th time in 4 years this body had been subjected, for radio waves to peep inside the abdomen. Only reason being other symptoms like extreme concentrated pain. Tried and tested, results are every time the same. Some thing was special during this experimentation. As chocolaty was already shivering from cold, he was given a punishment in lieu of availing this diagnosis. Called inside the clean room, asked to lay down on the experimental table exposing the parts above waste. See how humiliating these medicos are, as they had been watching the person shivering in cold because of exposing the body and the doc was involved in a private discussion. Whenever tried to cloth it, was warned by dementors. This punishment continued for 15 dying minutes. When the experiment was over, the body was booted out as another samples had to be prepared, for the same experimentation. Hope, some sensibility could be rooted in the mighty skull of these dementors.

1408

1+4+0+8 = 13, the evil fucking number

Once upon a time there lived a heart, which believed that it would never give up while watching any sensational, thrilling or horrific movie. It had witnessed the sensation and thrill of movies like grudge, final destination, ring and many more without a maiden sign of fear. Anytime, if challenged it had seen the winning side only, just like the famous writer Michael Enslin who always enjoyed the adventure in finding out the truth out of myth. Yes, yes, this is the guy who actually stopped that brave heart to beat anymore.

It is all about the movie 1408, which is centred on this character. Michael Enslin used to write about the hidden truth behind the myth about evilness of hotel rooms. He always won, but it was room number 1408 in hotel Dolphin which challenged his willpower. It was believed that no body could stay alive more than an hour inside that room. Mike became excited in finding out the truth behind this. Hotel administration tried its best to prevent the brave check into that room, by threatening him of the previous incidents, but he was a soldier of spirit. And, with that spirit only he enters the room, assuring himself to find out the truth. Few moments later, the evil of the room starts taking action, and a timer showing his lifetime started blinking. What was happening to that brave young man, I would not write that here, because it is really difficult to describe the thrill of the events which occurred. I can only say that whatever happened inside the screen, my brave heart died of its courage. The situation became like whenever a thrill was suspected, I paused the movie and went out to relieve the past effects of thrill of the movie, and start afresh to face next. Salute to the brave young man. However that character was fictitious, the events happening with him challenged my intrepid heart to every extent it could be possible.

At last, a must watch movie for every brave heart.

Winter of '07

Next!

But before the next begins, where was chocolaty spending his vacations? Guessed? Off course, some days were spent at R (for the fulfillment of the curiosity of outcome of the previous). The moment arrived finally when chocolaty was excited for his first ever fly! Was he actually? Probably yes or may not. It was lucky indigo which got the privilege of offering chocolaty’s first ever fly in its airbus. Whatever be the situation at the ground, while in sky, he certainly was giggling with the scenic beauty, after getting the window seat. Rising sun through the sky crapping Himalayas, beautifully spread clouds which looked like heavy sea tides through out the reach of vision, combined with the beauty of Kanchanjangha summit, it felt that picturesque satire was planned to welcome chocolaty and offer him never dying memories of his first ever fly. Thanks to indigo. Thanks to winter academy organizing people. Thanks to nature.

Airbus reached Guwahati. The city of mighty and picturesque Brahmaputra, river islands, beaches, beach-islands, thick tropical green cover, natural sweet-water lakes, in the state of tea gardens welcome chocolaty. Taxi driver drove the way to Kapili, the privileged place to offer a week stay to chocolaty. It’s a hostel in IIT Guwahati. Whole campus surrounded with places of natural beauty and eye catching sights, especially in the evening time under the street lights. Seemed, it would have been a resort. First evening was just a formal welcome, and the beacon was lit for the war of brainwaves, so named Indo-German Winter Academy. It felt, moment later chapter one, two and three were closed with the strict routine life- wake up early, catch the bus by 7 am, have breakfast and the brainstorming session starts. Five potent dynasties were made martyrs everyday, with short intervals of refreshment for the next including a little larger one for feeding the energies to other brave sons of engineering schools, to keep their hearts beating at least upto their turn. And after this much disaster at the end of every chapter, no body could be left with enough courage to continue further. Another chapter began, with some soldiers having belief of survival, but probably intense prayers also could not work. After three happening days, some repose came into being, as further days were schedule for pre lunch battle only. Before welcoming this repose, a martial art dance program was organized. Sorry, can’t explain what happened there. Chocolaty did not attend that because he was reckoned to be the first soldier in the next day’s battle field. On the first chapter of repose, river cruise picnic was organized on the picturesque Brahmaputra. That night, local hosts led guests to their famous view point. The campus looks awesome from the top under the effect of great invention of Thomas Alva Edison. Next reposing session was spent for religious causes. Almost everyone went to the famous Kamakhya Temple in Nilachal Peaks and the Balaji Temple little ahead of the city. And then comes the last day at the battle field. Happyzzzz endingzzzz alwayzzzz.

Everyone was being emotional. To tie up these flow of intense emotions, local hosts decided to organize a farewell with Bonfire Nightout. Chocolaty describes that night in these lines:

आग की लपटें समां बाँध रहीं थीं
वारी-न्यारी यारी का पयाम बाँट रही थी
एक यादगार क्षण का लुत्फ़ झलक रहा था
सबकी हंसी ठिठोली से गुलशन महक रहा था
जब वक़्त बिछड़ने का आया,
अश्रुतीत थे हुए नयन|
सब अपने पथ को मुड़े,
दिलों में रहने का देकर वचन|

Aging Treatment

People always worry about their past, present and even future. I wonder why they waste their energy in thinking about the outcome of those which has not yet happened, and about those which had already passed. Shouldn’t they utilize their energy utmost to enjoy the present, in which they live? Obvious answer comes, yes. These are al the philosophies being repeatedly said by wise people, in some way or other. I was wondering once about future of other people. Not mine! Here I list, whatever I could figure out about some of my dear colleagues:

The first name which comes to my notice is Boomerang theories Good Girl. A typical don character she plays nowadays. This reminds me about her old age resembling the “Grand Ma” in my colony, hearing whose steps we kids used to leave the playground silently and if caught, only god knew how much we and our parents were going to be scolded.

Any one can guess about the bright future of Mr. No Right. I guess his spects would become his most salient feature in his old days. Probably he may find his name in Guinness book of world records, for beating the thickness of Great Wall of China through his glass thickness. Ah! One more point to be noted, his PeeJays may catch quite good attention among his grandchildren, if he could find a more handsome lady than Aishwarya Rai.

Rapping Perfectionist is famous for his style of speaking, style of starting answers with “actually” and speaking out “Mr. Churchill”. Probably, he may lead a generation of his style. For the matter of fact, I am quite sure that his stories to his grandchildren would comprise of evolution of velociraptor and how could only one of the whole species survived 65 million years?

Thoughtful Misconception is a kind of human species, who thinks he is the most annoying guy on this planet by his PeeJays. What I could sense about his old age is that his grandchildren would definitely be able to make him whatever animal they like to see. After being tired from his service to the nation, he will be teaching his Shubhaasreewaad to his family.

What to say about Melodious Soumya. I think her grandchildren would also be calling her like this only. As it is common observation, that ladies in their old age become more involved in worshiping of god, so she would be pouring melody of bhajans for her lilliputians.

I still have hopes that Wild Bore will definitely learn by the time, exaggeration limit of the matters. Or, it may be otherwise that this limit would tend to infinity. In that case, his grandchildren would be listening in the Hindu mythological stories that Ram lived in “Dwapar Yug” and was alive in the “Treta Yug” to teach Krishna, that he has to kill Kansa. Histories may also include, saying he saw snow fall in his days at R.

Oops! This may be enough, because few more lines may lead to the blowing of Chocolaty blood. Bear with me please. I shall be back with some other exciting effects of aging treatment.
